Welcome to Stem Adventurers! My name is Lindsey, and I created this space for parents who want to make the world of science and engineering feel a little less intimidating and a lot more exciting for their children. I believe that STEM isn’t just for labs and classrooms, nor is it just for geeks and scientists; it’s a way of thinking that helps us to solve problems and build the future, and it can start right in your own home.

Here on this blog, I’ll share simple projects, engaging activities, and practical advice designed to help you inspire the next generation of innovators. My goal is to show you that facilitating a journey into STEM is a fun and rewarding adventure for the whole family.

A Little About Me

I have always been a problem solver. When I was a child, I used to love buying those puzzle books from the newsagents, and I’d happily spend hours in the holidays poring over the pages. My favourite puzzles were the ones called codebreakers – where you had to work out which letter of the alphabet each number corresponded to. Even now, in my downstairs loo there is a little puzzle book – just in case I am stuck in there for a while 🙂

As I grew older, I got lost in the magical world of computers. Back then, there was no such thing as YouTube, or Facebook but even then the computer opened up a new world of discovery for me – the ability to create music, art without paper or paint, and endless puzzles to be solved in the form of computer games. This fascination led me into a career in technology, and a lifelong interest in innovation and making things better.

Fast forward a few (ok, many) years, I now have two children myself and I am keen to show them how to uncover the magic in the world for themselves.
