To make a cube – cut 12 identical lengths of straw.

Thread 4 pieces of straw onto a pipe cleaner. Bend the pipe cleaner at 3 corners to make a square shape. Trim the ends of the pipe cleaner to about 2cm. Tuck the ends into the end straws to make a closed square

Repeat with another 4 pieces of straw

Trim a pipe cleaner to 4cm pieces. You will need 8.

Bend the pipe cleaner pieces to form an ‘L’ shape. Thread one end onto a piece of straw and tuck the other end into one of the corners of the square. Point the straw upwards to form a vertical strut. Repeat for the remaining 3 pieces of straw on the other corners of the square.

With your remaining pipe cleaner pieces – tuck one end into the top of the vertical straw piece and the other into one of the corners of the 2nd square shape. Repeat for the other corners until you have a cube shape.

To make the pyramid (you will need 6 identical lengths of straw) – thread 3 pieces of straw onto a pipe cleaner and bend to form a triangle.

Make 3 vertical struts at each corner as per making the cube.

Join the 3 vertical struts in the middle with 2 sections of pipe cleaner
